About the School
The Saint Francis De Sales School is run by the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales, a body also known as the Fransalians. The Fransalians are a 170-year-old order with a presence around the world. The order has been in India since 1845. The current school was established on 10th April 1978 and the first batch appeared for the class 10th board exam in 1983- 1984.

St. Francis De Sales does not conduct pre- school or pre- primary classes. These are instead conducted at the Father Peter Mermier Pre School located a short distance away. The Father Peter Mermier Pre School is named after the founder of the Fransalians.

Facilities
Saint Francis De Sales School has multiple state of the art multi- media labs for teaching and programming purposes. All the departments concerned with School Administration are networked. The school library houses more than 20,000 books including encyclopedias, dictionaries and atlases. The school has a well-equipped clinic and first class science labs.

The school admitted students to the Pre- School (Nursery) class in 2023-2024. The minimum age for eligibility was 3 years as on 31/03/2023.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Catholics 40 points.

Catholics are given 40 points.
Neighborhood 20 points.

Candidates are given upto 20 points depending upon distance from the school.
Sibling 20 points.

Applicants are given 20 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 15 points.

Wards of alumni are given 15 points.
Staff Children 5 points.

Wards of staff are given 5 points.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that applicants produce the following documents.
  • Birth Certificate of the Child.
  • Proof of residence - Voter I-Card/ Passport/ Electricity Bill/ MTNL Landline Bill/ Aadhar Card/ Water Bill/ Ration Card/ Domicile Certificate
  • For alumni- Fresh membership certificate of Sahodaya (Ex- Student Association) and pass certificate of Class X or XII.
  • For Catholics- Baptism certificate and a letter from the Parish priest. In addition Catholics have to get their application forms attested by the Parish Priest.
