About the School
The Montfort School was established in 1970. It is an unaided Christian minority institution that is run by the Society of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel. The society is part of an international society founded by St. Louis De Montfort in 1703 and now active in 32 countries around the globe. The school runs in two shifts with the second shift being taught in the Hindi medium and targeting underprivileged children of the neighborhood.

Facilities
The school is located on a campus measuring about 6.5 acres and has a built up area of about 3800 square meters. The academic facilities available at the school include physics/ chemistry/ mathematics/ biology labs; three computer labs; two language labs and a 16000 reference book library. The extra- curricular facilities include two dance rooms; two music rooms; two auditoriums/ halls fitted with AV equipment; a gymnasium and a pool. The entire school is under CCTV surveillance. Finally the school has a mini- zoo with ducks, rabbits, pigeons and the like that is very popular with younger students.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023- 2024
Admissions in 2023- 2024 were made to the Pre- School class. Children born between 01/04/2019 and 31/03/2020 were eligible for admission. The total seats available were 152, out of which 20% were reserved for the management quota and 5% for staff wards.

Admission Criteria
The school gives preference to Christian candidates. The admission criteria for non-Christian candidates is-

Neighborhood 35 points.

Students resding within 1 km get 35 points, those residing between 1 and 2 km get 30 points, those residing between 2 and 3 km get 25 points, all others get 20 points.
Sibling 10 points.

Applicants are given 10 points if a sibling is already studying in the school.
Alumni 5 points.

Wards of alumni get 5 points.
Total 50 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following original documents for verification-
  • Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation.
  • Proof of residential address (Ration Card/ Water Bill/ Electricity Bill/ Voter I- Card/ UID Card/ Passport/ MTNL Telephone Bill).
  • For sibling cases- appropriate documents.
  • For alumni- appropriate documents.
  • For Christians- Baptism Certificate and letter from the Parish Priest.
