Saint Columba's School was set up by the Christian Brothers Society in 1941. It is one of the 19 institutions run by the Christian Brothers in India. The school has a rich heritage of six decades and a large alumni network.

The school admitted students to the Pre- Primary (Kindergarten) class in 2024-2025. Boys born between 01/04/2019 and 31/03/2020 were eligible for admission. The total number of seats available was 240.

The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood	20 points. Candidates are awarded upto 20 points depending on distance of residence from school.
Sibling	20 points. Applicants are given 20 points if a real brother is already studying in the school.
Alumni	20 points. The candidate is given 20 points if a parent is an alumnus of the school.
Christians/ Catholics	40 points. Christian/ Catholic applicants are given up to 40 points depending upon the zone they belong to.
Total	100 points.

The school requires that applicants produce the following documents.

Birth Certificate of the Child
Proof of residence- Voter I- Card/ Passport/ Electricity Bill/ Water Bill/ MTNL Telephone Bill/ Ration Card/ Aadhar Card
For Christians- Baptism certificate and a letter from the respective Parish Priest/ Pastor testifying to the membership of the Parish
Siblings-Photocopy of fee slip/ latest report card
Alumni- photocopy of marksheet/ school leaving certificate/ pass certificate
