About the School |
Mount Carmel School is a minority institution run by a society called the Mount Carmel School Society. Mount Carmel School started out in July 1972 in Anand Niketan with just twelve students. The school has now grown to a strength of 3000 students housed in two buildings and taught by 150 teachers. The society has also opened a second school in Dwarka. |

Facilities |
Mount Carmel Anand Niketan is housed in two buildings. The
Junior School building houses students from Nursery to Class III while the Senior School building
houses students from Class IV to Class XII The facilities available include well equipped labs for biology/ biotechnology/ chemistry/ home science/ geography & math; separate computer labs for the junior and senior wings with 24 hours internet access; a library that includes a collection of CD's and video-cassettes; a 3 bed clinic and a girls hostel capable of accommodating 100 students. The School has a full complement of sports facilities available. Mount Carmel also offers what it calls the Elijah scholarships to students who manage to participate in sports at the National level. Scholarship holders receive tuition waivers/ financial support. The Elijah scholarships were instituted in 2006. |
Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024 |
The school admitted students to the Pre- School (Nursery) class in 2023-2024. Children aged three years or more as on 31/03/2023 were eligible for admission. The total number of seats available was 80. Out of these 40 seats were reserved for the General/ Alumni/ Sibling categories. The remaining 40 students were reserved for the Christian/ EWS/ Staff categories. |

The top scoring students in each category in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Science (Non-Medical)- 97.8%; Science(Medical)- 96%; Commerce- 96.8%; Humanities- 96.8%. 53 of the 203 students who appeared scored more than 90% in the aggregate. |
