About the School
The Mother's International School is run by the Sri Aurobindo Education Society, which is an agency of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The school campus is, in fact, located within the premises of the Delhi branch of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.

The school was established on 23rd April 1956 by Surendra Nath Jauhar with the blessings of the "The Mother" and has grown to a strength of about 2100 pupils. The school draws inspiration from the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and "The Mother" and aims to provide all round personality growth through what it calls an "integral education".

Facilities
The facilities available in the junior wing include a children's park; activity & Montessori rooms; a mathematics lab; music & dance halls; a pottery lab; two art & crafts room; a computer science lab and a library.

The middle and senior school wing is equally well equipped and contains multiple physics, chemistry, biology and computer science labs; mathematics, biotechnology and home science labs; a dance hall; art and craft rooms; a batik lab; a library; four music rooms and an audio- visual hall.

On the sports front the school has facilities for a variety of sports such as basketball, badminton, table tennis, cricket, football and volleyball. Sports facilities also include a gymnasium, yoga halls and a 400m-cinder track.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024
The school admitted students to both the Pre- School and Pre- Primary classes in 2023-2024. Children of age 3 years or more as on 31/03/2023 were eligible for admission to the Pre- School class. Children of age 4 years or more as on 31/03/2023 were eligible for admission to the Pre- Primary class.

The school had a total availability of 120 seats for the Pre- School class. Out of these 60 seats were for the General category, 30 seats were for the EWS category, 24 seats were for the Management quota and 6 seats were for the Staff quota. The school had a total availability of 20 seats for the Pre- Primary class. Out of these 10 seats were for the General category, 5 seats were for the EWS category, 4 seats were for the Management quota and 1 seat was for the Staff quota.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood 40 points.

Neighborhood points are awarded on the basis of a printed table that lists out localities and points for each locality.
Sibling 30 points.

Applicants are given 30 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 20 points.

The candidate is awarded 10 points if either parent passed either the Class X or Class XII exam from the school. The candidate is awarded 20 points if either parent passed both the Class X and Class XII exam from the school.
Girl Child 10 points.

Female candidates are awarded 10 points.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Birth Certificate of the child
  • Any one of the following for proof of residence- Aadhar Card/ Passport/ Ration Card/ Voter I- Card/ Electricity Bill/ MTNL Bill/ Domicile Certificate/ Water Bill
  • For sibling cases- a photocopy of the fee receipt for the sibling
  • For alumni- a photocopy of the AISSCE/ AISSE mark sheet of the parent who is an alumnus

Cutoffs in 2023-2024
The school published the scores of all 2850 applicants for pre-school and 472 applicants for pre-primary. The first list published by the school had a cutoff at 50 points for pre- school and 50 points for pre- primary.

Class XII Result
The top scoring students in each category in the 2019-2020 were as follows- Science- 98.2%; Commerce- 98%; Humanities- 98.4%. 104 of the 186 students who appeared scored more than 90% in the aggregate.
