Laxman Public School is located on a large eight-acre plot in Hauz Khas in South Delhi. It is one of the few Delhi schools that have a hostel in the school premises. The school believes in imparting holistic education that will lead to the development of the three H's- head, heart and hands.

School facilities include science and computer labs; IT enabled classrooms; a library with books, CD's and DVD's and a medical room staffed by a qualified doctor and nurse. Regular eye and dental checkups are carried out on all students.

On the sports front the school has facilities for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, yoga, Tae Kwon Do, skating, gymnastics and aerobics. In addition to sports the student can participate in a variety of extra- curricular activities such as dance, music, theatre and electronics. The school has 5 open-air theaters.

Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls over the age of eleven. The hostel provides both dormitory and individual room accommodation.

The admissions made in 2024-2025 were to the Nursery i.e. Pre- School Class. The school had a total availability of 224 seats. Out of these 56 seats were reserved for EWS candidates and 168 for general category candidates. The minimum age was three years as on 31st March 2024.

The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood	70 points. Students residing within 12 km get 70 points, all others get 0 points.
Siblings	20 points. Applicants are given 20 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni	10 points. Wards of alumni get 10 points.
Total	100 points.

The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.

Birth Certificate of the child
Proof of residence- Voter ID or Passport or Ration Card or Aadhar Card or Domicile Certificate or Electricity Bill or MTNL Bill or Water Bill
For sibling cases- a copy of the latest receipt of payment of fee at LPS and report card of sibling
For alumni- a copy of the class XII pass certificate from LPS along with a copy of the character certificate issued by LPS

The cutoff score in 2024-2025 was 70 points.

The stream toppers in 2023- 2024 were as follows- Non- medical- 95.4%; Medical- 89.8%; Humanities- 96.8%; Commerce- 96.8%.
