About the School
The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj is one of the newer schools in Delhi. It is one of the three Heritage schools located in Vasant Kunj, Rohini and Gurgaon. The Vasant Kunj school was established in 1999 and within a short time has grown to a strength of about 1400 students. In the process the school has partnered with various NGO's and Foundations to enrich the quality of education.

Facilities
The Heritage School is located on 1.73 acre campus and has a built up area of about 3500 square meters. The facilities at the Heritage School include well equipped science and computer laboratories; a well stocked library with books and multimedia content; design labs for carpentry, pottery, textiles and handicrafts; an AV room; a medical room with a qualified nurse; broadband internet and WiFi capabilities and an amphitheatre with a capacity of a 400. The school has a playground with equipment for a variety of sports.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024
The admissions made in 2023-2024 were to the Nursery i.e. Pre- School Class. The school had a total availability of 72 seats with 40 seats available for the General Category, 14 seats for the Management quota and 18 seats for the EWS quota (25%). The minimum age was three years as on 31st March 2023.

The admissions process is governed by the policies and guidelines of the Delhi Government. In 2023-2024 the school adopted the following timeline

Admission Criteria
The school uses a points-based system for admission. Points are awarded according to the following criteria

Neighborhood 50 points.

Students residing within 1 km get 50 points, those residing between 1 km and 3 km get 40 points, those residing between 3 km and 6 km get 30 points while those residing beyond 6 km get 20 points.
Sibling/ Staff/ Alumni Ward 50 points.

Applicants are given 50 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school or if they are wards of staff or alumni.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Birth Certificate of the child
  • Proof of residential address- one of electricity bill/ MTNL phone bill/ electoral card/ Aadhar card/ ration card/ passport/ water bill
  • For sibling cases- last fee paid receipt
  • Blood group report of the child

Cutoffs in 2023-2024
The first list published by the school had the names of 22 candidates who scored more than 70 points and were selected directly. The remaining seats were filled by a draw of lots amongst the candidates with 50 points.

Class XII Results
The top scoring students in each category 2019- 2020 were as follows- Science- 97%; Commerce- 97% and Humanities-95%.
