About the School
Don Bosco is a Catholic school for boys that is managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is an unaided Christian minority institution. The school started under a tent at the Don Bosco Technical School at Okhla in 1980. It shifted to the current school building in Alaknanda in 1984 and now has a total strength of about 2300 students.

The school uses the same methods of education that are used in Don Bosco schools everywhere. Faith is an important part of the education process. Classes in Christian Doctrine are compulsory for Christians and in Moral and Spiritual Education for all students. The school has both Quality Management (QMS) and Environment Management Systems (EMS) in place and is ISO certified.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024
The admissions made in 2023- 2024 were to the Pre- Primary Class. Boys born between 01/04/2018 and 31/03/2019 were eligible for admission. The total number of seats available was 180.

Admission Criteria
Don Bosco is an unaided Christian minority school and hence reserves the right to give preference to applications from the Christian community. The school uses a points based system for admission, details of which are given below-

Religion 40 points.

Catholics within the zone or Christians within 2 km or staff wards are awarded 40 points.
Neighborhood 25 points.

Applicants are awarded points depending on how far they live from the school.
Alumni 10 points.

Wards of alumni are awarded 10 points.
Sibling 25 points.

Applicants are given 25 points if a brother is already studying in the school.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Birth Certificate of Child
  • For Catholics- Baptism certificate and letter from the Parish Priest
  • For Proof of Residence- any one of the following- Passport/ Election Identity Card/ Electricity Bill/ MTNL landline bill/ Ration Card/ Aadhar Card/ Water Bill/ Domicile Certificate
  • For sibling cases- photocopy of school identity card/ SA 1 report card of 2022-2023
  • For wards of alumni- Identity Card/CBSE Certificate of Class X and Class XII


Class XII Results
The top scoring students in each category in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Science- 96%; Commerce- 92.4%.
