About the School
Birla Vidya Niketan was established in 1983 under the aegis of the Birla Academy of Arts and Culture. Housed in a sprawling 6 acre comlex in Pushp Vihar the school has grown to a strength of about 4000 students. Though known to produce excellent academic results Birla Vidya Niketan does not confine itself to academics alone. The school is sensitive to social concerns and has tied up with NGO's such as "Goonj" and "Chetna" to sensitize students to social concerns.

Facilities
The school campus is divided into the senior block, junior block and the sports complex. The senior and junior blocks are well equipped with science and computer laboratories and facilities for e- learning. Both junior and senior blocks have well equipped libraries. The junior school has a locker system that allows students to leave most of their books in school and avoid the burden of heavy school bags. The school has a medical facility staffed with qualified nurses. It administers regular dental and eye checks to all students.

On the extra- curricular front the school has clubs for computers, mathematics, science, literature, astronomy and theatre. The sports complex features a six- lane swimming pool, multi- purpose gymnasium, badminton courts, skating rink and gymnastics equipment.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024
The school admitted students to the Pre-School class in 2023-2024. Children born between 01/04/2019 and 31/03/2020 were eligible for admission to the Pre- School class. The total number of seats available in the Pre- School class was 280. The breakup of these seats was as follows- General Category- 154, EWS- 70 and Management- 56.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood 70 points.

Candidates residing within 8 km of the school are awarded 70 points, all others get 60 points.
Sibling 20 points.

Applicants are given 20 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 10 points.

The candidate is given 10 points if either parent is an alumnus of the school.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Municipal Birth Certificate of child
  • Proof of Residence- Passport/ election ID/ electricity bill/ MTNL bill/ Aadhar card/ ration card.
  • Alumni proof- Passing certificate of AISSCE exam.
  • Sibling proof- Report card of session 2021- 2022 and fee bill of Jan 2023.

Cutoffs in 2023-2024
The cutoff for admission was at 70 points for Pre-School.

Class XII Results
The top scoring students in each category in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Science- 97%; Commerce- 96.4% and Humanities- 96.2%.
