About the School
The Apeejay School Sheikh Sarai was established in 1976 to cater to the educational needs of children in the southern part of Delhi. The school is run by the Apeejay Education Society. The society is sponsored by the renowned Apeejay Stya industrial house and runs over 29 schools, colleges and professional institutions in the country.

Facilities
Apeejay School Sheikh Sarai is housed on a 6.5 acre plot and covers a floor area of 1,20,000 square feet. It has well equipped laboratories for biology, physics, chemistry, computer science, electronics, biotechnology, home science, geography and maths. The School has 6 computer labs with 160 computers with multimedia facilities. There are 2 libraries, one each for the junior and senior schools. The school is proud of its Science Park which houses 19 working models of things like DNA and the Archimedean screw. The school auditorium is fully air-conditioned and has a capacity of 800 people.

On the sports front the school has facilities for basketball, table tennis, cricket, football, volleyball, skating and chess as well as a 13 meter by 2.5 meter swimming pool.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024
The school admitted students to the Pre-School class in 2023-2024. Children aged 3 years or more as on 31/03/2023 were eligible for admission. The total number of seats available in the Pre-School class was 160, out of which 40 seats were reserved for the EWS/ DG category.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Physically disabled child 10 points.

Physically disabled candidates are awarded 10 points.
Sibling 20 points.

Applicants are given 20 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 20 points.

The candidate is given 15 points if either parent is an alumnus of the school and 20 points if both parents are alumni of the school.
School transport availability 15 points.

Candidates are awarded 5 points if they stay in areas where school transport is available. They are awarded an additional 10 points if they actually use the school transport facility
Staff Ward 20 points.

Wards of staff are awarded 20 points.
Girl Child/ First Born 15 points.

Female/ first born candidates are awarded 15 points.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Municipal Birth Certificate of Child
  • Proof of Residence- Aadhhaar Card of parents/ Voter I Card
  • Alumni proof- Passing certificate of AISSCE exam, school leaving certificate.
  • Sibling proof - Identity card of sibling, latest fee bill of sibling
  • First child- affidavit
  • Physically challenged- certificate from competent authority.

Cutoffs in 2023-2024
The cutoff for admission in 2023-2024 was at 30 points.

Class XII Results
The stream wise toppers in the class XII exam in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Humanities-96.4%, Science-95.8% and Commerce-97.2%.
