Ahlcon Public School

Ahlcon Public School was established in 1998 and is located in Mayur Vihar in East Delhi. The school attempts to lay an emphasis on spiritual and moral education along with regular education and lays claim to a distinct blend of the oriental and the occidental in its approach. The motto of the school is "Light to Enlighten".

Ahlcon Public School occupies a 3.5 acre plot and has more than one third of the plot area dedicated to playgrounds. The school is well equipped and has three computer labs, a robotics lab and a language lab in addition to the usual science labs. It has two libraries- one for the senior school with a collection of 23,000 titles and the other for the junior school. There is a well equipped auditorium that is capable of seating 464. On the sports front the school has coaching facilities for cricket, football and badminton.

The school admitted children to the Pre-School class in 2023-2024. Children born between 01/04/2019 and 31/03/2020 were eligible for admission to the Pre-School class. The total number of seats available in the Pre-School class was 200 with the breakup being- General- 110, Discretionary Quota- 90.

The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood	45 points. Candidates are awarded between 45 and 25 points depending on distance from the school. These points are awarded on the basis of a table published with the application form.
Sibling	25 points. Applicants are given 25 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni	10 points. The candidate is given 10 points if either parent is an alumnus of the school.
Single Parent/ First Child/ Girl Child	05 points. The candidate is given 05 points if he/ she is the ward of a single parent OR if the candidate is a first child/ girl child.
Staff Child	15 points. Wards of staff are given 15 points.
Total	100 points.

The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.

Address Proof	Ration Card/ Domicile Certificate/ Electricity Bill/ MTNL Telephone Bill/ Registered Lease Deed/ Aadhar Card/ Passport/ Voter Card.
Date of Birth Proof	Birth Certificate from the Municipality office.
Sibling Proof	I- Card of sibling.
Alumni Proof	Class XII certificate of parent.
Single Child	Judicial Order/ Death Certificate.

The cutoff was 55 points for Pre-School in 2023- 2024.

The top scoring students in each category in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Commerce- 96.4%; Humanities- 95%; Science- 98.2%. The school topper scored 98.2 %.
